  1. Ron,
    Great story about Jordan.
I have a few to tell you over a period of time or desist if so requested. My stories are not generally known to the public, as they are not usually about high profile players, but they are still amazing to me.
In about 1965, my dad was playing in a tournament at Columbus Country Club in Mississippi, with Bob Kellogg. Bob was the best player at the club over time. On number 7, daddy made a two on his second shot, a totally blind shot, with a 2-iron, only double eagle that I have ever witnessed.
Mr. Kellogg, his partner and best friend, had been an All Sec running back at Tulane. His nickname was “jitterbug” because of his running style. He may have been All-American as well.
He became the asst. football coach at Wake Forest and met Arnold Palmer, who was on the WF golf team.
Palmer taught Kellogg a bit about golf. The thing that he told Kellogg that I remember was that there is no such thing as too much right hand, there is only too little left sometimes.
Years later, Kellogg started off at our course with 6 birdies and an eagle the first 7 holes and went on to set the course record.
Maybe the story is not worthy of your time, but it is a good story about ordinary people who loved the game

    1. Hi Lawton,

Of course it’s a worthy story. Actually, a great story because now every Certified Golf Nut who reads it will at least try Arnold Palmer’s swing tip! It could be The Secret!
